So witch is it to me American Idol is really stupid and Simon is well to be honest a cold arragent ass. But what are your thoughts on the show?
I watch it along with more than 30 million other people every week. But that doesn't necessarily mean it's not a waste of time. And as far as Simon goes, he is the only honest judge. He is realistic, and even though he might be a bit unkind in some of his remarks, he is usually right in my opinion. Anything is better than that simpering Paula who gushes over everyone.

The only thing good about American idol are the first two episodes when they're making their selections. The rest of it is just repetative and boring. Only the first season was interesting the rest well let's just say is now way out-dated and they need a new concept. None of the winners make it big anyways...only one to do it so far was Kelly Clarkson and it looks like that recent girl will to. but everyone else has gone MIA. So yeah it's a waste of time....i definitely haven't watched it since season one, but it must have some appeal to have so many ppl still watching it. Anywho that's just my opinion about it.
i watch it every single week, and i'm not gonna miss an eppisode. i can't stand paula, and like someone else said, simon's the only honest judge. he does cross the line sometimes, but most of the time, he's right on point. i think this's the best season yet, and i was never a huge kelly fan to begin with. that doesn't mean i don't like her, but in my oppinion, she screams too much. my favorites this year are as follows: boys: ace, elliott, and chris, and girl: katherine. my favorite girl's gone now, but i know she'll go far. in my oppinion, melissa should've gone before ayla, who should've made it a lot farther than she did. ayla didn't have the best voice, but i just feel like i related to her in sooo many ways. she was the hardest worker out of all the girls, even the judges said so.

Isn't the point of any tv show to be a waste of time, don't you watch tv when you want to waste time, hence saying a tv show is a waste of time is a bit like saying that water is just wet.
As for the show, it's a lot more amusing than some shows, especially stupid reality shows, that being said I usually watch CSI and I'm a sit com fan as well so it's not like I am a big expert on tv shows in general. Simon is cool, sometimes you need tohear that you're justnot as great as you think you are or that you are doing good but you need to work on something, if everyone tells you you're great despite the obvious opposite, you'll never amount to anything. Just watch the kids who could not sing an on-pitch note to save their lives come to the show and proclaim they're good, that's horid. ;)

I love the show and already want Lisa for the girl or Tayler for the guy. They both can sing and yes simon is a excellent judge but sometimes can come off like a ass. Only missed one show so har but thank for DVR.
there's no way lisa will win, her voice isnt that great.
I'm addicted to AI. I watched Season 2, with Clay and Ruben and it was awesome. This season is one of the best! Mandisa shouldn't have left.
Oh yeah and Paula is a pothead.
Lisa's already gone. I love the show and I do think Simon's an ass, but it's funny when he and Paula argue.

I was surprised to see Mandisa go. I think Kelly P. is cute, but don't see her making it to the end. I want to see Chris win, he rocks. Having said that, I think this season has been one of the best as far as talent goes. Re previous winners, can't stand Fantasia, love Carrie Underwood, Beau rocks, Diana DeGarmo was good. Re judges, Simon is brutal but often right. Randy's "dog" routine is quite jaded, but he's okay and I think Paula is being a little better over all this year than in seasons past. Love the show and have been watching since Season 2.
i can't stand chris, and would be absolutely devistated if he wins. i'd much rather ace or elliott win, it's time for a guy, and a good one at that!

I don't think Kelly will be there much longer. I was quite surprised at the bottom three, and of them, yes, it was time for Ace to go.
I never liked Idol. I watched it once. I never cared about it or its winners. All of them (even the winners) suck at singing. Only one has made Grammy sucess out of the bunch and well, after a few years of not seeing these other singer wannabees can't we give up the show? Even Clarkson's voice is annoying. And everytime I hear her or any other Idol winner songs on the radio it's switcharo on the dial. And even the looser gets a contract to make a album and loads of other crap to go with it.
Yup, it's a waste.

idol is definitely the best show on television, lol. I never miss an epesode of either american or canadian, and I loooove it. although Paris is gone *sniffles* I'm shocked, and can't believe it...that was just as bad as in season three when Jennifer Hudson got voted off wayyyy too early. but yeah. I love all the winners except for Carrie, and now that Paris is gone I hope Elliot wins. although Paris should've won...grrrrrrrr.
I think Paris wil do fine without American Idol. She has a mother and grandmother in the music business who can help her. As for the timing of her being voted off, I think it was about right. The four left are the four best this year. But I do agree that a couple years ago Jennifer Hudson was eliminated way too soon. She, Latoya, and Fantasia should have been the final three.
thank you. that's what I think too. but no, of course they couldn't do that cuz to have three people in the final three who pretty much sing the same style of mushc, oh my gosh that would just be too much for most of the idol viewing public, lol. but I agree. I think Paris will do fine too, but I see why she did idol...she didn't wanna mooch off the success of her mom and gramma. who is extremely talented btw...love Ann Nesby. but yeah. I don't thinkTaylor or Catherine are the best at all. I used to like Taylor, and I think he's a good singer, but I don't think he's the best at all. and as for Chris. I'm so over him.
Right Even though I am not American, I can still say something about it since we have the same thing in germany. In my opinion it is very interesting and some voices really are great. The only sad thing is that most winneers (except Kelly Clarkson) have maybe one or t wo hits and then drown in nowhere.
It can't be that bad! Kelly Clarkson is amazing! And absolutely out of this world live! So if it has made such success and given the world once such talent, we can't slate it too much!
Yeah but you still have to admit that ... I mean come on, hool young and Gareth Gates ... are they still that successful? And also our German "Idols" ... we hardly hear anything from them. Kelly Clarkson is, of course, the exception. And I agree, she is great and has a fantastic voice.
Quite frankly, I thought Chris was by far the best contestant this season. Of the two finalists, I think the winner will be Taylor. He's good, but not great.
Yeah you somehow have a feeling for who is good and who isn't, who will remain in the show biz and who will only be a one-hitwonder. Like, I knew that in our country they were not that good to last.
I don't think Will Young gets enough publicity! He is ace! But Gareth Gates is a waste of time! We watched the Prince's Trust Concert here in the UK last night, and Will Young was on that, live, and he was ace! I thought to myself then that I can't believe I hadn't heard more from him for a while... definetely him and Kelly Clarkson are big successes... or Will would be if he had the right publicity! We did say though (my lady and I), that neither of them won that World Idol thing that was a battle of all the Pop Idols of the world... now the dude that won? What a pile of shit! Who knows him? Remembers his name?! It's a fix that neither Will or Kelly won that!

erm, can't say I've heard of it. But he was in the film Mrs Henderson Presents... I haven't seen that either, but it's supposed to be good!

ok, I've skipped through the mindless dribble that is this board, that is to say, anything beyond post 5 or so. Here's my thoughts. As for the judges. Paula, she's just drunk off her ass, or stoned on some shit I'd like to get ahold of, all the fucking time.
Simon, he's the only person on that show I even minimaly respect. The other one is a waste too. As for the host? well, if I said my opinion of him, it would violate the bullshit we signed.

I agree. who knows Kurt Nilson!! HE had one song, and that was a re-make of a good song, and now he disappared. Lol fortunately. I was hoping that Kelly Clarkson would win this contest. I was sure that our German singer wouldn#t win, but I seriously thought Kelly Clarkson or will young would win that worldidol contest.
Well now that the season is over: Taylor is pretty good and I think that he and Kathryn were a really close match, but I love Eliot! He got so far! And on the season 5 CD, it is evident that Melissa's voice rocks! I think she sould've gotten further. Ayla was all right, I only heard her sing once though. And Chris? Meh. His voice was okay..and Bucky was ok but country just isn't my thing. I love American Idol, if you haven't noticed, lol, and I think that they have a great variety of judges. Sure, Paula is over nice, but sometimes that's good, especially since they have Simon, who kind of crosses the line but he's funny. And Randy is kinda in the middle.
We had a couple in our season as well. None of them won. I have noticed that more men win the contest than women.
it's not even about who's the best singer. It's a popularity contest, who's the best looking and such. No one but Simon seems to care who wins!
Might I also remind you that I only watch the auditions, and don't bother with the rest!

Whether any TV show is a waste of time or a good show is a matter of opinion, and everyone has a right to their opinion. Personally American Idol is the only "reality show" I like. I can't stand any of the others. But I wouldn't go so far as to call people who watch them ignorant.
